Having just caught up on the Manga a couple days ago, holy shit this arc will be a treat to see animated on the big screen.

I was really intrigued with this one ... watched 7 episodes so far and I was pleasantly surprised right off the bat with multiple aspects.

Now, isn't there enough manga material after the 1st season to make a 2nd one instead of a movie ?

There is plenty of material for about 3 Seasons, plus the movie. But the next arc is short enough and epic enough to justify adapting it as a movie. To top it all of it is the most popular arc among Manga readers.
