It is in fact completely crazy to thing that because why would Sony be announcing games for the PS5 before they formally announce the console? In previous gens Sony’s studios were busy making current gen games right till the last year or so. this time GG and Polyphony have been working on next gen for 3-4 years before the console comes out. Santa Monica, and Insomniac got 2-3 year head start, Bend will have a 1.5 year head start, etc. This will not be like PS4’s launch. Anyone who thinks we’re looking at a slow start needs to look deeper. |
Announcing games early yes, but how much has been said about games in general for next gen period? Nothing really as far as I have seen, other than faster load times. Now if the PS4 game announcements and information was spread out more evenly, then this more silent gap wouldn't seem so odd. I also think that PS better understands gaming fans and giving them too much info like MS does, leads to poorer results when official announcements are made and games are launched. Keeping quiet will work wonders if they have the goods to wow.

PS3 - #- We must build a console that’s powerful, social, costs and does everything.
PS4 - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.
PRO -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.
PS5 - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.
PRO -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.
