Chihayafuru is, in my opinion, the best competition based anime out there, one of the best manga adaptations ever produced, and one of the best anime I've ever seen, period. It's fantastic in almost every facet. I'll never stop hyping this series.
Amazing to think the mangaka once had a series cancelled for plagiarism plus the shame of a public apology. That could have ended the career of anyone less talented. Instead, she went on to create one of the biggest Josei properties ever.
