Peter Jackson did good with the LoTR in my opinion but the Hobbit trilogy was such a big let down and i would say a stretched out moneygrab while sacrificing the plot,he has the ability to direct good movies but it has been a long time since LoTR and everything he made after that was lesser quality.

Give it a try in English, you'll quickly get used to it. I was born in the Netherlands and lived there until age 26 yet started reading sci-fi in English from age 12. (Also tried German and French books but too many words I don't know). Translations are usually a bit off, could you imagine reading Olivier B. Bommel in English? Marten Toonder made up many new words that are very hard to translate, same with a lot of Dutch concepts that run through the stories. Sci-fi has the same tendency to make up new concepts and words so you're better off reading it in its native language. It's one of the reasons the Witcher books feel a bit off to me. I can't read Polish so the English translation will have to do, which isn't that great. Nor not knowing much of Polish history. Luckily most sci-fi (at least those that I read) come from familiar backgrounds, UK and US, reads better.

Anyway reading Dutch now breaks immersion for me lol.

Yeah i should try to get into english books a bit more as there are so many good books that just never get translated to Dutch because the market is not big enough and people here mostly buy cooking books. :p

I might order them this week and i will try to remember letting you know what i liked about them after reading them.
