Nintendo make some fantastic AAA titles but they also put out some really good AA or even work together with companies like Jupiter to bring A titles like Picross and such on the Switch.
Each title is rated on its own merits, games like 1-2 Switch or Mario Tennis get flamed when they're missing content or when they're just not good value for money and likewise games like Breath of the Wild and MK8D get great reviews because the games are incredible, if you have issues with big site reviews then just go on youtube and search for some of those vids where you see the first 10 mins of the game or w/e and make up your own mind, there is tons of ways of getting info about a game you are thinking of buying in 2019, if you suspect one of those channels has corruption in it, then ignore that channel and read elsewhere.
Also @ people who say that Mario is a brand which Nintendo relies on too much and such.... keep in mind that using Mario as the protagonist of a game basically takes away the character creation side of the development of a new title and it then frees up that time to spend on focusing on the actual gameplay rather than coming up with a new edgy main character who'll probably get 1-2 titles at most before being forgotten about. It also saves a ton on marketing of a new character, people know Mario, you take that 3d model of a plumber and stick it into a new sports title or so... you got a ton of sales because people will buy it for the Mario character appearing in the game and hopefully with the extra time Nintendo saves on creating a roster of sports characters instead they can use that time to focus on more gameplay. It's win / win for Nintendo / Gamer when Nintendo uses Mario in a new title.
