Are Nintendo games held to an unrealistic standard?

Depending on big franchise is pretty common. MS has hit out Halo and Forza many times over. Sony has been hitting God of War, Uncharted, Killzone and some others pretty hard as well. Perhaps Nintendo develops the least amount of new IP, but redundant franchise characters is pretty common.
