His looks does closely resemble Ganondorf though.

Why could Ganondorf not have died like that?(i did not play breath of the wild so that could be the disconnection for this opinion in case it is wrongly)

Well, we eliminated calamity Ganon, not Ganondorf (if I recall?). If Ganondorf died like that, which game did it occur in? Or is it implied that this death occurred before he became calamity Ganon, within the breath of the wild past? Breath of the Wild takes place like 10,000 years into the future after the initial calamity Ganon attack.

Ganon was an evil demon king and the beast reincarnation of the evil godlike being that has existed since the beginning of time, when he is reincarnated into his more humanlike gerudo form called Ganondorf he mostly exist as a force/soul in Ganondorfs body like a symbiosis so it is possible for Ganon or calamity Ganon to exist outside of the dead Zombiefied Ganondorf and revive it again with what was left of Ganon after being defeated in Breath of the wild.

Fan theory :p

Edit:The hand that holds what might be zombie Ganondorf in the trailer could be the connection it needs for calamity Ganon to seep back in it in order for it to revive so the Ganon in Ganondorf can once again get stronger.
