By the numbers? yes. Its very much a half-step like the PS4Pro (smaller step up, than the PS4pro is).
But you sorta have a point anyways.... its not like their the same machines that play the same games, even though the switch did see alot of Wii U ports.

Also it's pretty obvious the switch is completely different to the Wii U when compared to the Pro and X compared to XB1/PS4. They're the exact same systems with a bit more powerful internals, they use the same OS, they have complete parity with games, everything on the Pro is on the PS4 and backwards. Did Mario Odyssey come out on Wii U? Splatoon 2? Xenoblade Chronicles 2? And so on. You can't pretend it's not a completely different generation to the Wii U. 

These cases are not the same. The Wii U came out a year before the PS4/XB1. They're the same generation. Unless you want to now tell me that the 360 is a different gen to the PS3/Wii?
