Remove 10-15k from this weeks sales then, as it's heavily discounted in Japan. And yet the PS4 still only reaches 32k with big releases (Division 2, One Piece World seeker, second week of DMC 5)

In other words, a pricecut would certainly help, but not to the extent you think.
