Games like No Man's Sky Beyond and Five Nights at Freddy's VR are getting some hype around the internet. 5 Million this year is a possibility.

Apparently it's sold 1.2m in the last 7 months and momentum is growing. No man's sky and Iron man along with the sprinkling of smaller titles will keep it going.

It boggles my mind that people think that a device selling 1.2 million over half a year including its it's third holiday period is somehow impressive. To this day, the highest quarter of sales the PSVR has had was its first. Yeah, sales have increased by literally the slightest of margins, but let's not act like this is building momentum. It took almost the same amount of time to sell its first 2 million as it did its second 2 million. Over that time period, Sony made the bulk of PSVR sales by slashing its price in half, and it was likely still outsold by the PS4 Pro over that same time period. Is Sony even making a profit off of PSVR while selling it at $199?

I mean, honestly, would anyone be surprised if eeks out 5 million in sales sometime over the summer, and we're talking about 6 million sold around this time next year?

I'm not sure why everyone is acting like No Man's Sky will make a difference. That game was a giant flop. I can go get a copy of it at the local ma and pa game store for $5. They have stacks of them. People have moved on from it and have for quite some time. It doesn't appear to have many active current users at all. Why would this push noticeably more PSVR sales? I don't get it.
