Why are games like thimbleweed so expensive when you can get AAA games for same price similar age

Well it is half off. But you're right about the $20 regular price being too much. IMO digital games use JC Penny style pricing, where the regular price is just a placeholder to make you jump for joy when the game finally goes "on sale". JC Penny will intend to sell a pair of jeans for $20, price it at $50, and then announce a "sale" at $20. This is a psychological trick to get people to buy something on impulse. If I can ever get a game onto the eShop I'll charge $5 to $10 from the start, and leave the price at that.

There are a bunch of games in there that are always "on sale" so that they can get free pub from living in the Great Deals section all of the time. I wish Nintendo would go to the publishers and say that they need to either quit gaming the system or lower the price permanently.
