With this numbers its obvious that Microsoft is on the way out in console bussines, and on the way in, in Gaming Service Bussines. Closing themself to only one hardware with this numbers, means death to them. Console agnostic service driven XBOX is the only way to go.

You go back about 3 years and you'll find this exact same post about the WiiU and Nintendo, go back to 2006 and you'll find the same post about the PS3 and Sony.... look at the charts now and think about the low points the WiiU and PS3 suffered, these companies can withstand a few failures, and with the cash MS are after investing in studios the next gen could be completely flipped on its head if they go and make a machine for gamers... no Kinect forced in, no always online, no TV centric rubbish and yeah.... just... make it for games. The Switch went a full calendar year with no youtube, it is still going into its second calendar year with just youtube, no netflix and no browser, no ability to play a movie from usb drive or online... yet it's selling a quarter of a million systems every week. Gamers wanted a gaming machine, Microsoft needs to step up and create the same sort of device for in the home and they can come back from this with ease.
