As well as Mario Kart?As Mario Tennis Aces(going for 3 million and beyond)?Mario RPGs?So much so that they are all franchises of their own.

There is sell well, and there is sell WELL.But you guys understood what I said.Is it that hard to understand that there is people, and in great quantity, that are not satisfied by Sword and Shield?

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Ranger, and Pokemon Colosseum sold well enough to be their own respective series. All done by different developers too.

Mario Kart is a different beast. But outside of that, the Mario RPG series has sold just as well as the Mystery Dungeon series.

Again, as Zorg said, check the databases. It's not that drastic of a difference, if there is any, at all, between the Mario sub-series and the Pokemon sub-series.

Pokemon, despite your claims, is still a beloved franchise and has been going strong to this day. Why do you think there is a Detective Pikachu movie, new Pokemon stores, new TCG series, new anime, and the annual Pokemon World Championships? Why do you think Pikachu was given the mantle of being the mascot of the Japanese football team that competed for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, one of the biggest sporting events in the world? All of this would not happen if not for the enduring passion of the players who buy the games over the years. Let's not act like the revenue Pokemon has built was front-loaded back in the late-90s and early 2000s or something.

If you are critical of the upcoming games, that's fine. You're not alone in this one as evident in this thread. Pokemon will continue to grow whether you see it or not.

I never said that pokemon wasnt liked anymore.I said that gen 1 and 2 are far more beloved than the rest. The sales support that too, but Im not going that far.

Sword and Shield will sell well, Im not denying it.Hell, the Switch effect will make it the best selling Pokemon in a while. But Pokemon as a whole has been rather stale sales wise, at the very least for the spin  off games.Outside of Pokemon GO, its been awhile since Pokemon has seen some real growth in terms of raw number. Here is some sales numbers for you:

Having said that, Pokemon wont go anywhere. It IS a juggernaut. But the point is not about Pokemon become more or less popular. Its about I wanting the series to evolve, take a true step foward. And I am (seemingly) not getting this with Sword and Shield.Thats all I was saying.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.
