I'm about 7 feet away on a 55inch Samsung from like Series 6 or 7 i guess. Looks god from that distance, even standard definition videos. Obviously 1080 stuff looks crisper. |
I sit about 10ft away from a 51" Sammy Plasma and I'd sit at least a couple feet closer if the room design would allow for it. It took me a little bit of time to get used to the larger screen, but it wasn't a problem after I adjusted, and feel that I could go with a 65" with my set up as is and it would be fine. Actually at 10ft now, sometimes the text on certain games can be a bit too small and tough to read. I have to lean forward on the edge of the couch as much as I can here and there, to read some of the text if it's important. 7 feet for a 55" would be right in the sweet spot.
