They always start at like the beginning of the game. You know, the part that's easily the most boring in almost every game? And if it's a sequel to a game, they skip out on the cutscenes that continue the story.

Why even start with a tutorial mission. What is so hard about dropping someone into a cool part of a game, lowering the amount of damage enemies give you, and then giving basic tutorial prompts?

 

Totally with you about demos today.  So much of the demo tends to be aimed at you getting to know the characters and the story.  That's what trailers are for.  I love that stuff when i'm playing the actual game, but if i'm playing the demo i'm only trying to get a feel for the gameplay.  All the other stuff is just getting in the way.
