It had Call of Duty, FIFA, Madden, NBA, Assassins Creed, Batman Arkham, 007, Mass Effect, Darksiders, ZombiU, Tekken, Ninja Gaiden, Warriors Orochi, Monster Hunter, Need for Speed, Lego City, Just Dance, Scribblenauts, Rabbids, Skylanders, Sonic Racing all in the launch window.

EA could have released Medal of Honor: Warfighter, Crysis 3, Dead Space 3 & Army of Two (their big games of late 2012-early 2013) and it would have made no difference, people didnt want Wii U.

Nobody outside of hardcore forum going gamers knew or cared about the "unprecedented partnership" or Origin boycott so those are irrelevent.

The problem was never the launch support, it was the support after launch that immediately dried up. If I can recall, the Vita suffered the same problem. And even if casual customers did not know about the specifics of the "unprecedented partnership" and the Origin boycott, the results of those were clear even for them: Lack of games. Again, the EA debacle was not the most important factor for the WiiU's failure, but it's not insignificant either.
