It has been hacked some months ago using a hardware exploit in the Tegra chip.

The strange thing is that the latest FW fixed that exploit. So you’ll probably lose everything if you update your system.

I haven't taken it online yet. So I should keep it offline if I want to keep the games xD.

Maybe I'll finish them all first and take it online, i already own a few of the games on the switch and other platforms too.

A couple of weeks ago I saw a video made by a guy in the hacking/homebrew community and he basically gave Nintendo a standing ovation for fixing this exploit trough a FW upgrade. And all I’ve read coming out from the hacker community regarding this is the same. They are really impressed by Nintendo for fixing this trough software.

Basically you initiate the possibillity of loading custom firmware by shorting some connectior (with in example a paperclip) where one of the joycons slide in. This makes some magic so the tegra sets the console in some kind of mode making it possible to load custom firmware. All of this was based on a weakness in the Tegra SoC. What nintendo has done is unheard of, basically fixing a hardware weakness with software.
