It's doing some phenomenal numbers. shipments in Japan should be above 2.5m by end of december. US maybe 5 million? Europe will be a struggle as I don't see it above 3m. That gives around 10.5m+... Including others that would give 11.5m at best imo. I doubt it will reach your prediction but tbh I'm shocked it's not that far off once you add digital.
First week sales (not shipments) so far:
3m in USA
Expected 1.7m without digital in Japan
Europe, we know it;s the best selling Nintendo console game ever. MK Wii ws at 875k after 2 weeks according to VGC, and according to @Chris_Dring on twitter, it's selling 30% faster than that which would put it at around 1.2m.
Adding Canada, Australia and others, I'd expect it to be just under 7m right now sell through, and we don't have Christmas sale numbers yet. That's phenomenal imo and has certainly had a major impact on Switch sales.
