It's funny how all the Nintendo people in this community try to judge CTR even though they didn't play (or barely played) this masterpiece.

Couldn't that just be said about you and most of the Mario Kart games?

I don't think there's actually much of a cross-over for either games, if you played CTR you were probably a kid at the time and it seems to me like having multiple consoles was more rare in the past than it is now.

Not pretending to be some unique snow flake but I'm 42. I sold my Gameboy in like 1992 and bought two games before I even had an SNES: Street Fighter 2 and Super Mario Kart. I've been a Nintendo fan my whole life but after playing Tekken 2, I bought a PS1. My heart's always been with Nintendo, though.

There's not a PlayStation console I haven't owned, some 2 or 3 times. Same goes for Nintendo, at one point I owned 6 DS consoles. Oddly, my current most played console is the Xbox One with the Switch as a close second.

All of that history just to try to illustrate that I'm about as unbiased as possible. If I do have a bias, it's actually against Sony. I've owned every Mario Kart and played hundreds of hours of the franchise. I get excited with every new Mario Kart release and I've bought each one on day one since MK64 except MK Advance.

I still feel that CTR is amongst the best Kart racers ever made. Right up there with MK Wii, DS, 7, and 8. On any given day, any one of those could be my favorite for one reason or another. It's better than DD,  Diddy  Kong, Advance, 64, Sonic and Sega All Stars, the original, and the other cash ins, easy. But that's just my opinion.
