It's probably Switch exclusive because the Avengers game from CD/SE is being made for PS4 and XB1 and this allows Nintendo to get a piece of that Marvel pie. Nintendo may have put up the money for it as well. I highly doubt another Marvel Ultimate Alliance game would've been made otherwise since Activision lost the rights especially with the Avengers project already in development.
It was probably another Bayonetta 2 situation.
