No he doesn't because his only argument was more Pokemon=better.

These are valid points though.  Now what benefits does let's go have over sub and moon?

- Pokemon following you

- Better graphics/resolution (I really dislike the art style, but thats subjective)

- co-op play

- seeing pokemon the overworld

I mean, these are great additions, but not nearly rnough to make up for what was lost.

You missed a few things on both ends.  In terms of features that are gone...

- Battle Tower or equivalent.  Which is my biggest gripe with this game, aside from the crappy online mode.

- The photograph thing from Sun and Moon... which was kind of weird, but maybe some people liked it.

- Various street pass features

- A few other things.  Like vs seeker, the pokemon finder, and others.

- Super training

-Weather

-Day/night cycle

On the positive side

-Ability to play on TV.

-Candy system (big improvement over EV points IMO)

-Easy access to Kanto Pokemon (how big of a deal that is depends on how much you like those guys)

-Motion controls

-Pokemon Go Connectivity

-Master Trainers

-Improved audio

There are also a bunch of tweaks that aren't quite additions, but may make the game more enjoyable.

-Easier to get high IV Pokemon.

-Simpler metagame due to the removal of certain features (abilities and items for instance) and less Pokemon.

-Ability to see IVs easily. (this was in Sun and Moon but not available till much later in the game, and much more work to unlock).

As for whether or not these features make up for the lost ones... That's up to you.  In terms of price, the visuals are probably the most relevant factor, because those are more expensive, especially because they need to be animated differently to be on the field.  If you look at effort put in vs price, I'm pretty sure that US/UM cost much less to make, and would have to be considered more of a cash grab if either was.  Let's Go definitely cost way more than any of the third versions/remakes that used existing engines.

In terms of value, for me, it's kind of a push.  If I had to pick one game and I could never play the other, I'd definitely go Sun and Moon.  But I actually like Let's Go as a less time intensive Pokemon experience that for now fits better into my life style. And I think this is a lot better than the typical third versions/direct sequels (Ultra Sun/Moon, Black White 2, etc) which I never saw much value in.
