It's disappointing there are any downgrades at all, but that's not completely out of line with previous efforts. I heard Skyrim was great, but LA Noire definitely has its issues in portable mode and LCU as well. IIRC, there were some small downgrades in alpha effects in cutscenes in the Storm 3. That was in handheld mode. I rarely play docked.
Prioritizing performance and clean visuals was the right way to go though. If the downgrades were necessary to nearly lock as close to 30fps as possible so be it.
I'd guess they're just going to move on to the 2nd game after this.
