I really don’t get this attitude. It’s fully “there” already. Would you have missed out on PS1 too because it wasn’t a PS4 yet? Honest question. If not please explain why not then but now.

Yeah, but you don't get this attitude because for the same reason you don't get why PSVR has "only" sold 3 million units.

If someone passed on getting a PS1 because of the incredibly basic 3D graphics and instead stuck to their Super Nintendo until the PS2 came out and things were improved substantially would they be wrong in saying they passed on a PS1 because "3D graphics and gameplay wasn't there yet"? Of course not.
