Well, I was watching it for a few months now, but I just finished Sket Dance tonight.

I mentioned it before, but it starts off feeling like Gintama in a high school setting. It features a trio of characters from different walks of life that come together to solve various problems for their classmates, generally with an absurd comedy type routine that frequently breaks the fourth wall or references other manga/anime. The similarities seem to be more than coincidence though, as the author of the original manga used to be an assistant to Hideaki Sorachi (mangaka of Gintama), and the anime itself even lampoons it a few times, one of which being a crossover episode with the Gintama cast.
It feels more distinct as it goes on though, and unlike later Gintama episodes (at least in my opinion) the few serious arcs are really well-handled. One of them features heavy drama, while the others are more grounded and realistic, which works well with the setting. Each of the main trio had a really well fleshed out backstory that enhanced their character, and just made me enjoy their interactions more when we got back to the absurdity.
Overall, it was a ton of fun, and I'm sad it's over. It's been a while since an anime has had me laughing this much. Apparently the anime doesn't adapt the whole manga, so I have that at least. Time to get reading!
I'll be a bit busy this weekend, but I'll update the poll at some point. Like usual let me know if you have something you want to see up there.
