I keep telling people that Nintendo does not take E3 as seriously as the public and media would like. They have their own form of media and they are going to drop bombs on us at their discretion alone. Great pickup for Nintendo as well. I think this is the first mainline Civilization title to reach a console since the PS1 era (I could be wrong but I think I am right about that).

Nintendo's e3's in recent years seem to focus mainly on one big release coming in the near future.

2016- breath of the wild

2017- Mario Odyssey 

2018- smash ultimate

They rarely announce anything new at e3 anymore.
