Why did you think there was no agenda? They announced the game with Trevor Noah, a democratic political pundit. Who they must have known a sizeable chunk of the audience would hate.
They're not idiots. It was a coordinated attempt to get a more left-wing and more female audience.
Unfortunately they're not smart enough to realise that personal tastes are heavily fixed with most adults. You'll never be able to just switch your audience like that. You're really stuck with whatever audience the genre happens to attract.
