In case neither of you have ever played CIV 5/6 they're both a lot more streamlined than previous mainline games, and for that reason 5 was the first one I really liked. Definitely more complex than revolutions but I think they're quite easy to pick up and user friendly, unlike IV. |
Sounds like Civ 6 is a good version.
I've only played Civ 1, 2 and Revolution. I'm pretty sure Civ 6 is more complex than Civ 2, but the main thing I liked about Revolutions was the game was much shorter. I could complete a whole game in a couple of hours. With the PC games I typically would start in the early afternoon, then I would look up at the clock and suddenly it was after midnight. I had a lot of fun, but it ate up all of my time.
I kind of expect Civ 6 to be more like that, but I will give it a try and just have to watch my time more carefully. The complexity is what would bother my wife, but I think once she sees me playing it, she will get sucked in too.
curl-6 bet me that PS5 + X|S sales would reach 56m before year end 2023 and he was right.
