Here is the week 34 update in terms of the two big consoles in Japan's path to be able to reach the commonly stated (in these sales threads) estimates for 2018 sales (2 mil for PS4, 4 mil for Switch) .

  TWS GD YTD AWN (Change)
PS4 22,838 -22,892 1,153,956 47,002 (+1272)
Switch 46,259 -81,671 1,615,579 132,467 (+4537)

TWS - This week's sales
GD - Goal differential, the difference between the average week needed from last week compared to this week's sales
YTD - Units sold in 2018 so far including this week's sales
AWN - Average weekly sales needed to reach the estimate for the console.

Drop as expected for both systems after Obon. For PS4 its sales are either impressive or underwhelming depending on if these numbers include the 500 million special console or not. Switch is steady but still way behind its AWN. The 4th calendar quarter is always Nintendo's strongest so there's still no reason to think it won't reach its goal (or at least get close)
