Well it doesn't help when the government is already pouring a endless stream of money into many social services. Even before reaching some sort of public healthcare option there is always some new social program being proposed, like universal basic income.

I agree that there are many social programmes that compete for the same space and there are ways in which the US could do them better (and other countries aswell) but we do know from other countries that Universal healthcare saves the people and government money and that is what baffles me. I know that it´s corporate America that doesn´t want universal healthcare and that they have bought many politicians but I still find it astounding how many politicians that lack vision for the country.

Fun fact, the US has over 100 million people on some sort of government health plan. With that much of the population relying on the government for healthcare, why can't the US government get better deals on healthcare or provide quality service?

Isn't that the idea of government run healthcare? The government would decide how much its willing to pay thus pay less for services, drugs, etc? It just seems to me the US government is bad at spending on healthcare and abysmal at providing it.

Maybe my logic is completely flawed. We don't have free healthcare FOR EVERYBODY but many do get it essentially free or significant help, we don't have universal healthcare either. but we do have a massive population relying on the government for healthcare. I feel like we aren't seeing the benefits of so many people relying on the government for healthcare. This is also why people stick with private, our government isn't so good at it.
