DS and 3DS are handhelds, they don't really count imo. PS3 is a better platform for gaming than Wii. Wii only sold slightly better because it was way cheaper than the PS3 and focused a lot more on a casual audience.

Lmao, you do realize Sony doesn't make the 500M milestone if you take away the sales of the PSP and PS Vita right?

Wii sold 15 million more units than the PS3. Also what console you prefer is entirely subjective and totally besides the point as this is a sales thread. PS3 wasn't number one, it was a big failure that cost Sony billions of dollars.

The only reason handhelds don't count to you is because Nintendo crushed them twice and kicked them out of the handheld market.

Yep, PS3 was a big failure that cost Sony billions of dollars and yet it still managed to outsell 5 of all 6 Nintendo home consoles. And it still managed to compete with the Wii and Xbox 360 over the years, even surpassing the later one in lifetime sales. All the big 7th generation home consoles sold 260M+ together and Wii beat the PS3 only by 15M which is really not a big achievement considering the PS3 started with a price that was almost 3x more expensive than the Wii. The console which you call a big failure that cost Sony billions of dollars is the worst selling Playstation home console of all time and that's a fact. Another fact is that the Wii is Nintendo's best selling home console of all time. And at the end of the generation the best selling Nintendo home console could beat the worst selling Playstation home console only by 15M in a generation where 260M+ home consoles where sold. And you are telling me that Playstation isn't the number 1 in gaming? lol
