The cat ad has to do with the live action Chihayafuru movies, which are pretty amazing. Both the anime are the manga are fantastic. The anime is probably in my top 10. Chihayafuru is very popular in Japan and is credited with increasing the popularity of the sport itself. Chihaya herself is kind of like a cat, now that I think about it, with her limited attention span and the way she just falls asleep wherever. |
I remember hearing someone talk about it before, the premise seemed pretty clever. What a funny idea for a sport...seems like a trivia game you play with friends. Is just the title of the poem written on the card, or the whole poem itself? Seems like they could just look at the first letters and win that way. Maybe there's a character with super eyes that can scan all cards at once, and the main girl wins despite being called a dunce.
