Backlash is well deserved! Queer actors and actresses had a hard enough time as it is to get roles. For a white woman who has endless other options to come in and take away the few oppotunities they had is just insulting.

To make it worse, this same woman already stole a role from Asians (another group who doesn't get representations in Hollywood). Nah she isn't getting away with it a second time.

Did it occur to you that maybe, just maybe she happened to be the best person for the role, hence why she was cast? What if a trans actor comes in and does a miserable performance, dragging the whole movie down with her and makes it a horrible flop? Would you really rather have that?

Again, sure, I'll concede that it'd probably make more sense for a great trans actor to play the role over a great female actor in a perfect world, but in reality.. was there one? Not only one that was up to the task and a quality actor, but one that would draw in as big an audience? At the end of the day, Johansson was cast. There must have been SOME good reason for it, right?

I'll say it again - Strip away the high-horse, holier than thou virtue signaling and this is just another form of bigotry, only with a different shade and dressed up as "progressive." This trend of one's identity residing over EVERYTHING is primitive, backwards, and frankly needs to die.

Sorry if I come off as harsh or offended anyone, but I feel strongly about this stuff.
