Reading this thread and talking to my friends I see why some think between 1-2 million. But I think it really should sell 3+.
People saying the graphics are retro or like 3DS, man that is ridiculous. Stop watching bad youtube videos. Have you played the demo? It's actually one of the best looking games I've ever played. Full of depth-of-field tricks, particle effects, and amazing water and snow etc. There's nothing indie about this game. Also has some of the best music ever.
The style is actually much more approachable than Xenoblade 2, and the subject matter more mainstream. You don't have a 3D camera. Tons of people love good games that don't require constant camera control (the worst thing about the 3D generation is the need to control the camera. Some people forget when you could play games for hours and focus on gameplay, not cameras).
I really think this game should appeal dramatically to Japanese gamers, especially since it is one of the easiest to play on the go. 3+ over the next 12 months. The install base has increased a lot since Xenoblade 2 released, and there is little competition with other games for the next few months.
