Wii Sports was a huge system seller for the Wii, was it not?

That's always been open for some debate to me as it sold to blue ocean crowd yes but it can be argued that Wii had other things going for it to sell to the same crowd like good marketing, motion controls and being ultra affordable as well (it was the same the PSP at the time which had been out for a while at that point) and it being a bundled game in all regions except Japan, Wii launched with Twilight Princess as well mind you which like BOTW was heavily anticipated even if we give it the sales factor quality wise it's nowhere near BOTW and some of the others. Imo the Wii itself was it's own seller to the BO crowd and games like WS benefited heavily hence why Wiisports Club on WiiU barely even registered on charts as the hardware couldn't sell itself like its predecessor.

I'm sure it would have sold well with out bundling during the Wii era as WSR sold 32m but not 82m if it wasn't bundled, keep in mind game's like Wiiplay also 28m during this period, these games imo weren't system sellers they were games that rode the tide the Wii created for itself.

I don't think motion controls would've sold the Wii out of the gate had they not been so brilliantly and accessibly demonstrated by Wii Sports. It was the game that made motion controls appealing to the blue ocean in the first place by showing how fun they could be.
