Man ... the hate in this thread is amazing . And pathetic in the same time .

Yes , the PSP is partially competing with the DS , but I do agree that game library wise the PSP has an entirely different market . Just looking at a chart a couple of months ago I saw that the PSPs game library had almost 50% of its games made out of M and T rated games , while the DS game library has ~ 75% E reated games ... that says a lot ...

The PSP didnt create this market tough . Its mostly built out of technology lovers , Sony loyalists and ex GB owners . The DS on the other hand opened up a totally new market and thats why its so successful . So yeah , I dont think that the PSP and DS are battling for the same crowd ...

Picture this: I have a DS and a PSP (I don't really, but work with me).  I am in the market for one handheld game.  I go to a game store and check out both sections.  I have my eye on New Super Mario Bros. or Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops.  I choose NSMB.

Are you honestly telling me that Sony DIDN'T just lose a sale to Nintendo?

Yes, more than half of my 20-odd DS games happen to be rated E.  I also happen to be 18 years old.  And yet NSMB, Animal Crossing, the Phoenix Wrights (rated E thru T), Bomberman, etc, all compete for my time with other 'Mature' games (which I do also play a lot of).

I'm also an ex-GB owner btw.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?
