Well I do sort of care that he is locked behind it. I dislike stuff in games not being available for all. Like BotW, I purchased these amiibo cards to get every unlockable in the game. Do I ever use half the weapons or new gear in the game those amiibo's gave me? hell no, some never used. But I wanted them. Helps my 100%. As for pokemon. 100% is easier to get these days due to pokebank, so exclusives, or missing pokemon in a game don't bother me so much. BUT this is freaking the first gen, I wanted Mew to be some hidden trick of hiding in the truck or something. A special quest for him, ect. Not just some amiibo unlock essentially. Think of like Epona for BotW. Many were upset that this legendary horse was not in the world somewhere. We had Zelda's horse, and we had even Ganons horse. Both had little quests and could be found in the wild. Yet Epona was a plop amiibo on controller and you get him. Less satisfying. So I hope Mew is still catchable in the game and not exclusisve to this ball |
My issue comes with fans that whine just to whine. This isn't referring to you but the fan base as a whole.
People cried that Amiibo didn't do enough and they didn't offer anything to people and had no reason to buy one.
So then Nintendo started adding incentives behind amiibo with unlocks and other reasons to warrant a purchase and to cater to what the fans were crying about
then the same fans that wanted Amiibo to be ''worth it'' then complained after their concerns were addressed.
Lose/Lose situation. That's why I have no sympathy for amiibo unlock stuff.
I can see why some people would get ''mad'' though. Sorta like a paid unlock code that's like 3kb on a game disc that devs make ya unlock
