Just reading the VGChartz Community on PSN, and started thinking, maybe Switch never outsells PS4. I don't think it will happen this year. Looking at next year, I believe we will get a PS4 Super Slim, and we will start seeing PS4/PS5 cross gen games announced that will not come to Switch. The new PS4 Super Slim will likely see a price drop, either $249.99 or $199.99, and I think that plus more SIEWWS titles will be enough to keep it above Switch in 2019. Then if PS5 launches in 2020, it will steal a ton of momentum from both PS4 and Switch, and Switch will start to plato. If Sony also announces a Portable based on the PS5 Architecture, and a shared library, I think Nintendo will be in a load of trouble.

It is going to be very interesting to see how things play out. I think the WiiU is still going to haunt them. They're off cycle releases are going to continue to kill off any hope of 3rd party support. Either they are going to have to ride out Switch tell 2022 - 2023 to give fans a decent life cycle, while having little support, or they will have to cut ties with the Switch early, and release a Switch that can achieve PS5 ports, but possibly make negative waves with their fanbase.

I don't think Nintendo is out of the water yet. So, for now, I think it is very possible Switch never outsells PS4, in any year.
