The problem is that there is a group of people that everytime someone disagrees with them (especially those who didn't like TLJ) they immediately use the Sex or Race card.

And here is the thing: Yes, there are racist and sexist everywhere (and in every fandom) BUT if those people were so numerous in the Star Wars fanbase then TFA, RO and even TLJ wouldn't have made nearly as much money as they did.

So yes, I find it EXTREMELY disrespectful everytime someone close to Lucas Film uses those terms implying that a big portion of the fanbase is like that.

Which goes to show the problem with The Last Jedi is mainly they took Luke in a direction a good chunk of the audience did not enjoy and the film in general was not as "feel good-ey" as The Force Awakens, which people loved or as much fan-pandering as Rogue One had. But both of those have a female lead with diverse casting and people loved both of those films.

TLJ's problems stem from a script that is too controversial in how it handles Luke mainly and doesn't have a satisfying enough of an ending.

Solo is probably the least diverse and least political Star Wars film in ages, and it is not resonating with audiences, so those aren't the issues alone. Lucasfilm has to be careful with these spin-off movies, just because you slap Star Wars on something doesn't mean big box office, Star Wars: The Clone Wars also flopped in theaters.

I didn't get a good look at the deleted post in question, then. It was the in someone's retweet, and then it was "Deleted by the user".
