If it was going to be a spin-off, at the very least it could have been a spin-off with some substance. Instead we got a gutted and barebones reboot of Pokemon Yellow mixed with Pokemon Go. The only way Game Freak could pass this off was by calling it a spin-off because otherwise it would just seem like a rip-off.
