This isn't a simple "yes, thank you for your efforts". Someone came along and made many of our jobs much harder than they needed to be. And trust me, we will get to the bottom of it.

Now, I won't speak on the "mean" you say has happened towards some users here, and this isn't meant as an attack on you, but if this issue was resolved in another topic, why bring it up in here?

I have now this theory that the spammer is some previously permabanned disgruntled user of the site as it seems logical. But if it turns out the spammer is still on the site, he/she must be laughing his/her ass off at seeing people here getting paranoid and turning on each other. (I'm looking at you TalonMan and VGPolyglot but it's not only you guys)

Website attacks (for example DDOS, Spam etc) are standard bullshit that you hear about all over the internet, but turning against each other may very well be some kind of ultimate victory for the spammer. I suggest you guys don't give him/her the satisfaction.
