If the image quality is shit. If the performance/framerate/frame pacing is shit... Your only option on console is to put up with it.
Sub 720P was extremely common. Even for allot of 30fps games.
Which is why I established that I am extremely picky when it comes to visuals. |
How many shitty looking/performing games really thrived on 7th gen though? Arguably not many. On a side note, a lot of PC ports can be shit or not work on some machines period. There is no perfect solution. I was looking forward to playing Crysis on my PC but it won't boot and I didn't care to tinker around to figure out the problem.
I'm not denying there were sub 720 games, there just weren't a "ton." You also neglect that's often a choice to push other aspects. Every 7th gen game could be 1080p with less demanding visuals.
7th gen consoles were pretty old by the time Halo 4 and Uncharted 3 released. Also, they likely meant relative to the consoles.
I never enjoyed SNES games because the asset quality was too low. I couldn't get immersed. I'm an annoying person.
