It doesn't matter. There is no reason to stop offering digital versions of a game. The digital shelf space is unlimited.

Non-switch versions are filtered out in the Switch eShop anyways and non-WiiU versions are filtered out in the WiiU eShop, so there is no danger of confusion or oversaturation. In the browser eShop you can also easily filter by system.

They also have to keep the data available for owners of that digital version to redownload, so even the (laughable) costs for "wasting" 6.6 GB precious space wouldn't be an argument. 

So why not keep these versions on the digital shelf?
