It actually is the only reason. You worry that your reasons might be debunked so you want to "shoot" the other side but not expose yourself. It's fundamentally unfair and it goes against the very structure of a debate. If I don't know why you disagree how can I show you that you are wrong? You have to do a little better than just say you disagree cause if you don't say why you disagree, you are not actually disagreeing, you are just using the words "I disagree" as empty words. But by all means explain yourself and tell me WHAT reasons you could possibly have to not explain why you disagree? |
Example:
Post: "Bold Prediction: Xbox One will outsell the PS4 and Switch COMBINED in 2018"
Response: "Nope. not happening."
Yeah, I'm totally sure that person is worried that their reasons might be debunked. That could be the only reason why they didn't go into more detail why they don't think the Xbox One will outsell the PS4 and Switch combined in 2018. It's not like the reasons might be totally obvious, or that going into great detail into why that's not going to happen isn't worth the time to type it out.
Nope. They're afraid of being proven wrong, and that's all there is to it according to you.
edit: Caught up to the rest of this thread. Can't believe that honest, legitimate feedback is viewed as "trolling" and ban-worthy by some people. Ridiculous. Either way, I'm done with this thread. I've said what I've had to say on the matter.
