Yes that button.

Well to answer your comment, I "rich-text" reply too when replying to someone's comment but if I add a comment that is not a reply, I see no other choice than to use the "quick reply" box at the bottom and that's where that damn "reset" button is. And for those who wonder it immediately deletes your comment with no possibility of recovery. If your comment is "sure I love potato chips" then it's no big deal, just write it again but if it's one of those super long comments in some hot debate thread, you will get up from your chair and hit your head on a wall I can promise.

Yeah, I understand the concern and frustration. I just honestly never even noticed the button before, in the first place...    ...under what condition would you want to click the "reset" button, anyway? More specifically - what is your expectation and what is it you are assuming should happen, if you click the reset button? Obviously, a warning would be nice - but "resetting" and deleting the post in its entirety would seem to be the correct action to take if clicked, right??

Edit:
And by the way - using the "Reply" button does NOT quote anything. All it does is bring you to an empty "rick text" box (just like the Quick Reply"), so there's no reason you couldn't just use that...   ...unless I'm not fully understanding the reasoning here.

I wasn't expecting anything I just was too quick to publish and accidentally pushed the reset button. My mistake, no argument there. Just saying that with a warning, accidental use would not cause total deletion of the post. But a more simple solution would be to make that button red, cause red would immediately warn you to be cautious. I was fooled by it being green and right next to the "post quick reply" button.

And you're right about simply using the "reply" button but while the reply button does not quote anything it is still a reply to a specific post which would warn the person you reply to that you are talking to that person. But what about an example where you post an opinion that is not a reply to anybody? Why would you want to choose someone and reply to someone if you are not talking to that someone specifically? Which I assume is why the quick reply box at the bottom exists, to make a reply that is not directed to someone in particular. And the reset button is fine, just paint it red
