Yes a remake of a PS2 game and a JRPG, both of which probably sold not much of anything, persuaded MS to rush out a game they have been showing off for years. Makes about as much sense as your theory that the Scorpio was never real. God of War looks to be an amazing game but you don’t rush out a big title like Sea of Thieves because of it.

The keyboard analyst talk on this site is embarrassing at times.

Anyways, sounds like a good amount of free content. Not sure what anyone else expected, it’s not like these are things hey marketed as being there at launch. Of course it’s going to be a slow drip of new stuff, like any other GaaS.

That's the point thats being made, that slow drip is fine if your game contains lots of content that takes a while to play through.

I certainly don't think they rushed it out, but I think looking at what Sony do every year, MS know that Sony basically beat MS for 8 months of the year and then MS do something towards Xmas, perhaps they are trying to change that and pushed SOT out earlier than they would have normally. What with RDR this October, I think the gap for any MS/Sony titles is going to be a hard sell anyway. Last time RDR came out, nothing sold well for a couple months (though I recall it being in the summer months before).

Lots of things going on I guess that its sometimes difficult to know what the reasons are.
