Believe it or not, especially in rural areas, there aren't people that get paid to pick up your trash. There are volunteer organizations who are so saddened by the amount of trash that ends up on the roads and eventually in our waterways that they give freely of their time to pick up the mess. When I first saw this thread pop up I didn't think it would someone bragging about littering, or even framing it in a context where they think they are performing a civic duty. Even if it were being picked up by a city employee, it wouldn't be like that piece of litter gave that employee a job. It would be more like that piece of litter kept a pot hole from being filled or a sprinkler head from being fixed.
I hope more than anything that you aren't teaching children this specific habit as well as the odd process of justification you're using for it. If nothing else, they may look back on you when they get older and see the ill will you've spread and wonder why.
