There is no supply issues in the US this 100% fact, only japan has a very minor problem at the moment.

The Switch is a region free device so if Nintendo is still having troubles manufacturing enough to meet global demands then it still has supply issues. Them offsetting more shipments to say North America or Europe doesn't negate that its probably being short changed somewhere else because of this.
