Goku being in Smash Bros is very unlikely. He didn't originate from a video game.

R.O.B. is a toy.

If theres room for Ryu theres room for Goku :)
Voted yes, even though I dont really play smash.

I like the idea of how silly it would be to have Goku face off vs say Kirby, Mario, Ryu ect.
It would be fun to watch.

I can already imagine Kirby doing a Kamehameha... that would be so cute!

Goku is a fighting game icon. Even if he started off as a manga and anime character.

What do you have against him? Why are you getting this annoyed over the idea?

Because it breaks a core value for the Smash Bros. brand. Solid Snake and Sonic the Hedgehog getting into Smash Bros. Brawl was fine because they were already video game icons, and Goku's already been in so many fighting games of his own, so if you want to fight as Goku just get a Dragon Ball game.

Smash Bros' core value was already broken when Sonic and Snake joined the game.

So, no real reason.

Exactly.

unpopular opinion - but Dragon Ball is a mediocre show and people need to wake up and realize it. as for putting Goku in Smash Bros? NO. Goku is not even a video game character and Sakurai even addressed this and said it would never happen

DBZ is a global phenomenon it's pretty much at the same level as Pokemon in terms of brand recognition, hell game companies like Nintendo wish they created DragonBall since it's a national icon and one of the most succesful Japanese names in media ever. Dragon Ball the anime is better than DBZ anime though.

It wouldn't work? How come?

Please elaborate on why you think a fighting game character wouldn't work in a fighting game like Smash, while there are other characters with similar abilities or moves that currently do work.

Because Smash is a commemoration of gaming (a "gaming all-stars" if you will), so the moment you start to include non-gaming characters, the whole concept falls apart.

Smash Bros was originally a Nintendo all-stars then it became a gaming all-stars only for those who appeared at least ONCE on a Nintendo console until Cloud came along.

You can't be serious.

You are honestly terrible at detecting sarcasm considering you make these replies every time someone makes a comment that is obviously not serious...

lol

I'd be for it simply because it would be a megaton surprise, as if Smash needs even moar hype. Plus Nintendo is running thin on major character inclusions.

Smash 5 definitely needs Goku to wow the audience at E3.

Please explain, i like both but i don't get why some would prefer Kid Goku over Adult for a Smash game.

Kid Goku's attacks I feel with fit better with Smash (Power Pole, Nimbus, Kamahameha being the only beam, etc). Adult Goku would feel more... Generic.

I can see where you're coming from but Adult Goku would feel anything but generic. Generic is what i would call all the sword wielders and clones already present in Smash, it's ridiculous and wasted character slots. Goku would be a great and fresh character, his flying would need to be limited though.

It seems like everyone wants a ton of 3rd-party characters these days, to the point that the series is becoming more like a video game all-stars title rather than Nintendo all-stars.

That idea died a long time ago with Brawl.

Why is this even a debate? If the major parties involved want it to happen it will. Goku is an icon in the anime Manga industry so getting him Smash would be huge.

Goku is a global icon like Pikachu.
