im going by Nintendo official report. It was 14.86 million in December. It has sold 400K in Japan alone since December.

Nintendo themselves stated they are planning to ship 25 - 30 million switches this year alone.

So 40 million is an understatement.

I ll be surprised if its close to 40m by this holidays.... lets just say that.

It seems highly unlikely to me.
I also dont understand why Nintendo would make 25-30m of them, and I doubt they ll do even 20m this year (sold through).

Id love to be proved wrong though, feel free to quote this in years time.

We don’t know what their fall line up is (which is usually the strongest). And Nintendo sold most of their hardware during the holidays.

If Pokemon comes out this year, it will not only match their internal projections but surpass it with ease. (unless there is more shortages)
