Oh, you mean the port that had a brand new Mario game that never released in the US up to that point? Is that the one you're referring to?

With that kind of backpedaling you undermine your own argument, because now you have to acknowledge ports as new games when they contain some new content. In the case of Super Mario All-Stars, it's only 25% that can be called new.

And since we are in a thread that is about Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy, it's a collection of three games that had never been released on a Nintendo console before. If you consider your backpedaling to region-specific releases to be valid, you have no choice but to accept console-specific releases as well.

The only thing I don't have a choice in is convincing people that it's ok to both love something while acknowledging that it's not better than something else. When people like something, it seems they are incapable psychologically from seeing faults in it or accepting that others don't. What is current is better. What is new is better, what they love... is best.

People need to believe that the things they enjoy are good because they feel it validates them. Any argument against it is met with fierce and brutal, borderline obsessive counter arguments... most of them flimsy and filled with half truths and tiled perspectives. It's all just a bunch of mumbo jumbo defensive mechanisms and I have learned years ago that you can't fight those. The only thing you can do is walk away and let them be.
